'Giant' lizards and cranky parents

Hi everyone,

Tabatha here.  I have been around, just the boys keep cramping my style a little, or maybe a lot really.
Good thing is that Mum has noticed and I get lots of cuddles and 'girl' time when the boys are not allowed to get up on her lap and push me off, which is something they are pretty good at.

It was really cool the other night - Smitty got caught ripping up her magazine and leaving lots of bits of paper everywhere - and he couldn't blame anyone else either.  He was caught in the act - and he got such a smack.  He sulked for almost an hour, too.

It wasn't as funny though, when I came running into the house on the weekend with a GIANT lizard, with legs kicking everywhere.  I had worked really hard to catch that lizard, and from all the yelling you would think I had dragged some monster into the place.  Of course, Dad came running and I lost my lizard.  Dad threw him over the fence and then I was under lockdown indoors.  Naturally, that upset the boys as they got locked in as well. So they weren't happy with me either - and it took nearly an hour before Dad shared his biscuit with us and we were allowed outside again. Mental note to self - leave the big lizards outside!!

With the rain around, we have had a lot of these big green things called frogs in the garden.  These are way cool - every time you tap them with your paw, they make this funny noise.  It's like having our own living squeaky toys.  Just don't bring them into the house... Mum really loses it then.

Anyway, nice talking to you all.  See you again soon.

I don't think Lizards make good eating....

Hi Beautiful People, Hugsley here....

I'm not feeling real well at the moment and Mum and Dad are not very happy with me - in fact they wouldn't even share their bacon with me - or with my brother and sister either, which got me into trouble with them as well.
Apparently it had something to do with the fact that I threw up on the kitchen floor, and the dining room floor twice, and then the back verandah.  Although if I go by the yelling, it also had a lot to do with me trying to eat it again. I was only trying to help clean up.

Mum and I had already had a falling out, when she called me in before she went to Guides, and I brought my lizard I had caught with me. She said it wasn't coming in, I said it was, there was a bit of a scuffle - and I lost my lizard and she ended up bleeding.  Not a good start to the evening for either of us.

Once she let me back out when she got home, I found another lizard - or two - and ate them.  I don't think that was a good idea, thinking it over...I started feeling not too good after that - and things went from there.

Mind you, Smitty gets a sore paw and he is off to the Vets - I throw up and no vet visit for me.  I like seeing Linda too. And he gets bacon and cheese to make him feel better - I get told I can't have it because I threw up.  Not fair really.

Vet Visit

Well, it seems that I miscalculated! And I'm supposed to be the clever one.

Mum is a bit more cunning than I gave her credit for... she called up reinforcements and got Dad to come to the Vets with us.  And the Vet had a couple of others there as well.  So my battle plans were out the window before I got started.

Seems I have an abcess in my paw but it may already be on the mend.  I am now on antibiotics, not sure what they are but it sounds like something I am not going to want. And I got stabbed - twice!! But it is supposed to make me better apparently. Not sure how that works.

Anyway, I like Linda the vet - she always cuddles me and says she's sorry for hurting me.

Maybe I'll leave the wildlife alone for a while till my paw stops hurting, like Mum said.  Besides, I can lie around indoors and look miserable for a few days.  Should be plenty of bacon on offer to make me feel better, don't you think?  Or cheese...I LIKE cheese!

Sore Paws and Secret Weapons

Hi everyone,

Smitty here...feeling a little sore and sorry for myself at the moment.  Mum says I am an accident looking for a place to happen.  But I don't think that's funny at all.

I have a sore paw and I am limping, as it hurts a bit.  I think I got something in it while chasing lizards in the garden the other day.  Of course, you can guess what Mum said, can't you?  Yep, that's right - no sympathy and if I would stop harassing the wildlife, I wouldn't have so many problems. Personally, I think the wildlife likes being chased..it is the eating part they have problems with.

Mum and Dad had a try at getting whatever it is out of my paw and I think they got some of it but it still hurts - and now Mum is talking about visits to the Vets.  And I know what they do .. stick things up my rear end and stab me with sharp things.  She needn't think I am going peacefully, that's all I can say. I am preparing for battle!!

I plan to deploy my secret weapon.  I found out about that one the other day when Mum grabbed me when I was up on the kitchen bench, just casually checking out what was on offer for dinner.  She pounced on me, and then squawked and dropped me...she said that I was a 'stinky bum' and that skunks smelt better, whatever the heck a 'skunk' is. Can't be anything good anyway...
I figure a few of those and she will never want to catch me and take me to the Vet.  (And the Vet won't want me either.)

Reckon I got this problem sorted!
